Dear Eyes,

Dear Eyes,

Thank you so much for forty two years of service.  Why are you failing me now?  First there was the reading glasses purchased at the airport last year, to help me get by and read the fine print.  Now it's the fact that I can't see for crap when my son holds something up for me to gaze upon, unless it is 5 feet or more from my face.  I can't read labels.  I can't read the newspaper, only the ads.

Your contribution to my well being is weakening.  After trying to thread the needle on my sewing machine today I gave up and came upstairs and made myself an appointment.  An eye appointment.  Gasp.  I am voluntarily going to the doctor IT'S THAT BAD.  After all these years of protecting you and feeding you carrots, this is what I get.

Blurry kisses,

Careless

I laugh everytime hubby and I go to eat out. We sit down at the table and pick up the menu. . . .I take my glasses off so I can read it (I'm near sighted) and he puts his glasses on to read it. Thanks to my near sightedness the Doc said it will take longer for me to get to the point of needing reading glasses. That's my silver lining. Your's is that your glasses won't cost you $100 each time. Thanks for the laugh, though.

At least they call them progressive lenses these days and not bi-focals....it's so much more, well, progressive!

Mine start to fail too, I can't read banner ads along the roadside, sometimes even wording below the news broadcast is blurry. I am only 25..at least yours serve you longer than mine.
